Continuing their support of Next Door?s bilingual Legal Advocacy Program, Latham Watkins has generously contributed $5,000, which will be used to help domestic violence survivors achieve safety and self-sufficiency. Victims of domestic violence require legal services that address immigration, family, and criminal law, but cost, coordination, and language barriers often render these services unattainable. Without them, victims may fall prey to batterers, once again, in the courtroom. In the coming fiscal year, with the help of this donation from Latham Watkins, Next Door expects to provide more than 600 individuals with legal services that will not only help them stay safe, but will also ensure batterer accountability.
