I can see this happening, but I think it will be longer than 50 years.
Maybe even closer to 100.
Our grandchildren likely will not know what an iPod was, or know Steve Jobs name. Neither are they likely to know what Bill Gates did, but they might see his name on a plaque somewhere, his foundation credited with some notable donation.
That is unlikely to happen with Steve Jobs, because he didn't do any of that kind of charitable work.
An example.
My stepsons have heard the name "William and Flora Hewlett Foundation" a few times, due to donations that that foundation has made our organizations in our area.
What they don't realize is that William Hewlett was one of two founders of Hewlett Packard. In fact if you mention Hewlett Packard, they probably don't even know what that is (though they do know what HP is).
the same thing will likely be the case with Bill Gates, thoguh with him it will likely take a little longer.
