HAMMOND, Ind. -?The Purdue University Calumet women?s basketball team will host Trinity Christian in the opening round of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament tomorrow, February 21, at the Fitness and Recreation Center. The Peregrines will look for their fourth-straight win and another trip to the CCAC Semifinals, when the action tips-off at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students. Purdue Calumet will look to begin its bid for a CCAC tournament championship tonight, as the Peregrines aim at defeating Trinity Christian for the third time this season. A win would also send PUC to its fourth-straight CCAC Semifinal appearance.
Series History
The Peregrines hold a 23-16 advantage in the all-time series between the two schools, including an 11-7 mark in Hammond. PUC has won 10 of the last 12 meetings, as head coach Tom Megyesi is 10-3 all-time against the Trolls.
Last Time vs. TCC
Purdue Calumet became the fifth team in program history to reach the 20-win plateau, defeating Trinity Christian, 66-47, last Wednesday night. Amanda Gaskin and Lindsey Whitcomb each pulled down double-digit rebounds in the contest with 12 and 10 respectively, helping Purdue Calumet post a 51-38 advantage on the glass with 21 offensive caroms. Brooklyn Short finished with 16 points on 4-of-5 shooting from downtown to go along with her seven rebounds and three assists, while Alex Starr tallied 16 points as well with three trifectas. Kami Graber came off the bench to notch 15 points and three helpers.

PUC Head Coach Tom Megyesi?s teams have been dominant at the Fitness and Recreation Center during his tenure, racking up a 31-14 mark over the past three seasons. This year has been no different, as the Black and Gold are 10-4 inside their friendly confines, where they are averaging just under 80 points per game.

The Trolls enter tonight?s contest with a 6-24 overall record and a 3-9 mark in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference, as they are in the midst of a seven-game slide. Samantha Nekola leads the way for TCC, dropping in 12.2 points per game with a team-best?70 steals.
