Nokia could sell luxury Vertu brand to VC firm for $265 million
As much as it'd be interesting to see Windows Phone running on a $21,000 gold-plated cigar lighter, that's probably never going to happen. According to the UK's Financial Times, Nokia has been trying to hive off its luxury Vertu brand for months already, and has finally found a suitor with the right cash / sense ratio. Although still far from a done deal, we're told that venture capitalist firm Permira is willing to contribute up to $265 million to Nokia's needy coffers -- which might sound like a lot, but is mere costume jewelry to a manufacturer that just lost $1.7 billion.

With a $4M investment, McCann Worldgroup has bought a 15% stake in Israeli incubator 'thetime'. This move isn't a particularly surprising considering 'thetime' was founded by Ilan Shiloah, who for the past 10 years has been chairman of McCann Erickson Israel. Meghan McCain Rips Greta Van Susteren for Inviting Lindsay Lohan to White House Dinner
Meghan McCain bashed Fox News' Greta Van Susteren on Twitter Friday for inviting Lindsay Lohan to this weekend's White House Correspondents' Association dinner.
Not just for the sake of hating on Lohan, a la Rosie O'Donnell.
“Let me get this straight,” Meghan McCain, 27, tweeted. “Greta Van Susteren is bringing Lindsay Lohan to the WHC Dinner but has a moral offense to Louie C.K?”
In March, Van Susteren called for a boycott of the Radio/TV Correspondence Dinner over comedian C.K.'s past controversial statements about women.
"The headliner of this year’s Radio and Television Correspondents Dinner is “comedian” Louis C.K. Comedian? I don’t think so. Pig? yes," she wrote.
"He uses filthy language about women. Yes, the C word…and yes, even to describe a woman candidate for Vice President of the United States. It isn’t just Governor Palin he denigrates. He denigrates all women and looks to the crowd to laugh."
Apparently Megs isn't offended ... except by Greta. The daughter of U.S. Sen. John McCain may not be crazy about Lindsay attending, but she's still going.
The Republican blogger, columnist and author Tweeted that she's "headed to DC for the nerd prom." Just hope they don't seat her with Greta or LiLo.

Zillow, according to one report, may be closing in on a deal to buy rental marketing software maker RentJuice for $45 million, but in the meantime the online property portal is focusing on the rental market in another way: by launching its first dedicated rentals app -- a free app for Android devices. Zillow Rentals is the latest development in Zillow's strategy for mobile, which -- now numbering at 10 apps -- has become a huge part of its business: on weekends, a full 40 percent of all of Zillow's traffic -- 32 million uniques in March -- comes from mobile devices, and in the same month 155 million homes on Zillow were viewed from mobile devices: that works out to 57 homes per second, the company tells me. Origin PC joins the 11-inch, rebadged gaming laptop party, outs the EON 11-S
Last week may have drawn to a close, but the march of Clevo news continues. On the heels of Maingear announcing an 11-inch gaming notebook, Origin PC is throwing its own ultraportable into the ring: the EON 11-S. Though this is a new model for the company (the smallest laptop it's ever sold, in fact), it's not quite fresh to us: this is the same exact Clevo-made notebook Maingear unveiled two days ago, only re-badged under Origin PC's brand and available in a wider range of colors. As far as performance goes, then, that means you can expect Ivy Bridge processors, a 2GB NVIDIA GT 650M GPU, Optimus graphics-switching technology and a battery rated for 6.5 hours of runtime. In Origin PC's case, the laptop starts at $999 (compared with $1,099 for Maingear), though you'll have to head over to Origin's site for a breakdown of what specs you'll be getting at that lower price.
